Magnesium Anode

Magnesium Anode is the most common material used as sacrificial anode in cathodic protection system because of its higher driving voltage, easy installation and limited maintenance. It is typically used for buried transmission of oil & gas pipelines and also can be used to protect structures in fresh water

To eliminate any possible flaw, this anode is strictly examined on several measures of quality by our quality auditors. Magnesium Anodes are made from 99.995% pure special high grade Magnesium ingot.

Each Anode has to undergo the below quality check

  • Durable finish standards
  • Height and Weight as per standard
  • Open Circuit Potential Check
  • Chemical Composition as per standard
  • Destructive test (one per lot)

Magnesium Anode is divided into 2 parts based on their chemical composition.

(a) High Potential Magnesium Anode & (b) Low potential Magnesium Anode.

Based on the soil condition choice of type of anode is done. Both the type of Anode has different open circuit potential. Magnesium Anode comes into different shape and size like Cylindrical, Rectangular shape and few more

Prepacked Magnesium Anode

Generally Anodes for underground applications are Supplied with back fill materials. Standard Backfill material consist of Gypsum (75%), Bentonite (20%) & Sodium Sulphate (5%), neatly packed in cotton bags with lead wire for terminations ready to be installed at site.

Cable is been connected with the Anode with Proper lug fitting, Epoxy is been used for the sealing the joint for better connectivity
