Zinc Anodes are best suited for protection of pipeline and marine structures from corrosion in high conductivity electrolyte (seawater) at ambient temperatures. These zinc anodes have high driving voltage and are used in varied applications.
It comes in different shape and size. Zinc Anodes are made from 99.995% pure special high grade Zinc Ingot. Most of the Zinc Anodes are supplied with 5/16” galvanized mild steel insert. The threaded insert extends 30mm out at one end for tail cable collection. Anode can be supplied Bare as well as Prepacked with the Anode tale cable.
Generally Anodes for underground applications are Supplied with back fill materials. Standard Backfill material consist of Gypsum (75%), Bentonite (20%) & Sodium Sulphate (5%), neatly packed in cotton bags with lead wire for terminations ready to be installed at site.
Cable is been connected with the Anode with Proper lug fitting, Epoxy is been used for the sealing the joint for better connectivity
Zinc Hull Anodes are designed for the protection of various types of vessels such as ships, barges, and tankers. Anodes are available in many configurations including weld-on and bolt-on mounting systems.
Zinc Ballast Tank Anodes are typically used on tankers and large vessels. Several configurations are offered for various types of mounting options that may include welding or bolting onto the structure.
Zinc Anodes for Bulkheads are typically used where Cathodic Protection is required on a wall within the hull of a ship, vehicle, or container.
Zinc Anodes for Piers and Pilingsare typically used around docks and harbors.
Zinc Bracelet Anodes for pipelines are used in underground, under mud or under seawater.
Zinc Heat Exchanger and Condenser Anodes are specifically designed for use on heat transfer equipment.
Zinc Soil Anodes are used where soil conditions require the use of Zinc Anodes such as saline mud below 120 F (50 C). These anodes would protect objects underground such a storage tanks, containers, and buried structures.
Zinc Anodes for Other Applications may include anode configurations such as plates, disks or other geometries.
This type of anodes are confirmed to be the latest modification of ASTM B 418.
